Revelatory Gifts of the Spirit

1 Corinthians 12:1-11 (NIV)

Couple of thoughts:

God is not American

God speaks through
* Impressions
* Burdens
* Heaviness
* Holy hunches…

God doesn’t limit himself to our known languages…often uses them, but
is not limited to them.

1. Feel It

2. See It | Picture, Vision, Dream

How does it work

Information // Revelation
Interpretation
Application

3. Hear It

4. Think it

5. Say it

Keys to Developing Revelatory Gifts

1. We know in part…so you prophesy in part

2. Prophesy according to your faith

3. Act on what you have…it’s like a tissue box

4. Realize that the gifts are tools not toys

5. Understand gifts are free - maturity is expensive

6. Marinate in the presence of God

Three types of Relationships:::

I am reading the book "Margins" by Richard Swenson. The book is a great book that discusses one of the greatest challenges of our lives is nurturing and protecting right relationships. There are three relationships we must work hard to nurture.

* Social ::: my relationships to others
* Emotional ::: my relationship to myself
* Spiritual ::: my relationship to God.

To find balance in life we must work as hard on all three of the above relationships as we do our "work". In life we often find ourselves "working" hard to bring home a paycheck and advance our ministry and/ or goals only to see the three relational areas be neglected. This book helps one redirect and refocus our energies to help ensure that we will maintain effective margins.
